David Murphy
David Murphy has practiced defence litigation for more than 30 years.
He has extensive experience working with insurers in Property & Casualty specialty lines including construction, municipal liability, hospital infrastructure and subrogation matters.
He has served as counsel in the defence of institutional abuse claims against Catholic religious communities and Health Care Professionals.
David's clients include some of Canada's largest direct writers and insurance companies. He has been counsel for a number of large Canadian Corporations on a wide variety of property and casualty losses including personal injury, fraud, arson, cargo claims and WSIB claims.
David has years of trial and appellate experience, is a seasoned negotiator and litigator with a strong record of cost-efficient results. He has appeared before administrative tribunals and other quasi-judicial boards
David is a member of the Defence Research Institute and Loyal Order of the Blue Goose. He has lectured for the Ontario Insurance Institute and participated in seminars for insurance industry continuing legal education programs.
A native of Halifax, David graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1987 and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1989.
